About Us

NSW Police Legacy was established in 1987 and is the only organisation that looks after the families of deceased NSW police officers.

We provide emotional and financial support to the partners and children of deceased Police Officers and currently support over 1,300 family members. We care for children as young as two and Widows as old as 102.

Our Vision

“That no partner or child of a deceased serving or former NSW police officer will ever feel forgotten or in need”

Our Mission

NSW Police Legacy endeavours to be a model not for profit organisation committed to providing professional and compassionate support to the widows, widowers and dependent children of deceased NSW police officers.
NSW Police Legacy is dedicated to our Legatees and ensures that they remain a part of the wider Police Family.
NSW Police Legacy has a Board of Directors and three staff members.

What We Do

We provide our Legatees with emotional and financial support. Our work includes assisting with grief and trauma counselling, managing children's trust funds and raising funds to provide a range of educational and social activities for our members. In this way, we enable the partners and children of deceased Police Officers to stay in touch and share their experiences with others who have suffered in similar ways.

How we help:

    • Provide grief and trauma counselling
    • Provide education and tertiary grants
    • Organise functions to help family members keep in touch
    • Manage trust funds
    • Organise life education trips for young teens
    • Provide birthday and Christmas gifts for or Legatees under 16 and over 90
