Grose Valley Mission

The mission of NSW Police Legacy inspires people to great heights. Or in the case of Snr Cst James Ghata, great depths. At 4am on Friday 25 July, while most of us were warm in bed, James was setting out from Mt Victoria on his mission to walk down the entire length of the Grose Valley, virtually non-stop, solo. (And, as noted by our Chair, in shorts!)

We had high hopes for the inaugural National Police Legacy Day. They were exceeded. After years of the different state organisations talking about the day and the shape it might take, everything came together on 17 June 2025, focussed through the Michaelmas Daisy, the flower of Saint Michael, patron saint of policing.
Run 4 Blue

Since it first started as a ‘virtual running event’ in the dark days of 2020, Run 4 Blue has become a welcome and inspiring fixture on the Police Legacy calendar. With its easy access entry point (still just $35 to enter!) and its philosophy of inclusion - any move will do, as long as you’re moving - it’s an event we love to see appearing each year.
