National Police Legacy Day

17 June 2025

We’re thrilled to have you with us for the start of a new tradition: 17 June 2025 will be the first National Police Legacy Day. Police Legacies have been supporting Police Families across Australia for 54 years, and now we are coming together nationally to honour this legacy of care. On 17 June this year - and all years going forward - we will honour all police who serve our community, and the families who uphold their memory with strength and pride.

2024 Vidal Challenge

On the 6 July 2024, the annual Vidal Challenge took place. The event is a friendly competition between NSW Police and Australian Army members that honours the memory of Constable Aaron Vidal, tragically killed on 18 June 2020, and raises money for NSW Police Legacy.

Chair's Report Sept 2024

The last few months have been fast and furious. I’ve visited 13 of the 20 Legatee Luncheons around the State from Tweed Heads to Bathurst, and there are seven more I would like to visit. These luncheons are just beautiful. Your company and the obvious support you provide each other is first class. Thank you to the organisers who take on the role of arranging, transporting, and hosting at each event.

Champions Roadshow

On Wednesday 24 July we held our final in-person Champions' Conference for the year at the Newcastle Police Station. It was an excellent and energising day, full of truly engaged Champions of Police Legacy bringing their ideas and enthusiasm to the table.

Kids' Adventure Camp - July 2024

The July Adventure camp lived up to its name, with 45 young Police Legatees from NSWPL and AFP Legacy flying up to the Northern Territory for the trip of a lifetime! The whirlwind itinerary included Darwin, Adelaide River, Litchfield National Park, Wangi Falls, Florence Falls, Edith Falls, Katherine, and the Katherine Gorge, and our kids were never in danger of getting bored.
