Community Support Team News: June 2020

Stay Connected

We are going through some very difficult times at the moment. But together we can get through this, stronger than ever before. We have certainly changed the way in which we stay connected over the past few months. We have had to put on hold our Local Area Lunches, Family Day, and who really knows what other events may be impacted? But now more than ever, we want to make sure you are included in our family.

Buddy Up

We have set up a buddy system within our Police Legatee group. If you would like a buddy, or can be a buddy that does a phone check every week for someone who is isolated and lonely, please give me a call on 9060 0701 and I can arrange for this to happen. A big shout out to our legatee volunteers who are already phoning and staying connected with each other. Thank you so much! You are making such a difference to those that may just need to hear a friendly voice now and then.

Facebook: NSWPL Connect

Stay in touch with everything that is happening on our private Facebook page (for Police Legatees and Volunteers only). Just search for NSWPL Connect on Facebook and ask to join. We post helpful hints, resources, competitions for prizes, and meeting links to the Coffee Crunches. We also welcome your input! You can post any assistance or comments – anything you think is helpful, or would help people get through this time.

Coffee Crunches via Zoom

We are holding Coffee Crunches via Zoom twice a week – Mondays at 10am and Wednesdays at 4:30pm. Look out for a link on the day of the Coffee Crunch on our NSWPL Connect Facebook page,  or phone Leisa on 9060 0701 and she will send you a link to join.

Good Old Fashioned Phone Calls

And all this connecting doesn’t have to be online! We still want to chat with you. You are very important to us. Please just give us a call to let us know how you are going and if you need anything at all. Call Leisa on 9060 0701. (Or email if you’d rather: leisa@policelegacysw.org.au)
