In July, a graduation ceremony of a different kind was held for "Foster", a General Purpose Police Dog named in honour of Senior Constable Kelly Foster VA, who died heroically in 2021 while trying to rescue a drowning canyoneer in the Blue Mountains. The ceremony was attended by Kelly's parents and family, who were proud of the achievement of the hardworking dog and handler (Senior Constable Ethan Hillyer) and felt Kelly would have been honoured by the representation.
