Since it first started as a ‘virtual running event’ in the dark days of 2020, Run 4 Blue has become a welcome and inspiring fixture on the Police Legacy calendar. With its easy access entry point (still just $35 to enter!) and its philosophy of inclusion - any move will do, as long as you’re moving - it’s an event we love to see appearing each year.
But police wouldn’t be police without a little healthy competition, and each year there’s a touch of friendly state rivalry that goes on. And we have to admit it - we’re partisan. To the core. And we’re quietly pleased that once again NSW has taken out the trophy, thanks in large part to the incredible efforts of the staff and students of the NSW Police Academy. This year they raised more than $23,000 with their spectacular running, dodging, and sledding efforts. It was a truly outstanding effort, and one that brought honour, glory, and blue donuts to the great state of NSW.
All state boundary jokes aside, however, we are thrilled at what this event achieves, and this year’s total of nearly $94,000 raised for the Police Family all around Australia brings the total raised to more than $800,000 over the course of this incredible event’s history. That is some serious cause for celebration!
